From Round to Square (and back)

For The Emperor's Teacher, scroll down (↓) to "Topics." It's the management book that will rock the world (and break the vase, as you will see). Click or paste the following link for a recent profile of the project: http://magazine.beloit.edu/?story_id=240813&issue_id=240610

A new post appears every day at 12:05* (CDT). There's more, though. Take a look at the right-hand side of the page for over four years of material (2,000 posts and growing) from Seinfeld and country music to every single day of the Chinese lunar calendar...translated. Look here ↓ and explore a little. It will take you all the way down the page...from round to square (and back again).
*Occasionally I will leave a long post up for thirty-six hours, and post a shorter entry at noon the next day.

Lunar World Preview 2018 03-19

As the Lunar World Turns

[a] Heart-Wired RF
Monday's Lunar Calendar

Right now on Round and Square—Monday's Lunar Calendar. Well, the "50-50 personality days" just keep plugging onward (much like life itself—there's good, there's bad, and only the movies and poor fiction steer too far from that balance).

Today's fifty-fifty, however, has a strange complexion. The black-ink "constellation personality" is "Heart-Mind," which has a long and evocative tradition in East Asian thought. That couldn't be too bad, could it?
But the red-ink "jianchu personality" for today is "Danger." Yup, if you're new to this space, "Danger" is a (relative) positive in this corner of Lunar World (let's put a little bit of risk in to spice it up (right?)...

But, I ask in counterpoint to our "Heart-Mind" question, how good could "Danger" really be?

The day may appear to be 50-50, but, as we have seen each day this week, even the basic "two personality" breakdown makes for nuanced life in Lunar World.

Like life in any world.

You should avoid binding nets, as well as an activity that I cannot even bring myself to mention here. Lunar World is full of surprises, and I am only happy that I am speaking of the "Avoid" category with these shielded words.
As for the "Appropriate" category, it's a good day for marriage, repairing and constructing, and moving soil.

Sounds like a busy day, so get to work.

Before we move on, though, let's take a quick look at those pesky baleful asterisms at the bottom of section six. We have two lunar problematics (as we say in the academic biz): Lunar Balefulness and Lunar Void. Those sound pretty bleak, as does the third (Upper Amputee).

So let's get back onto a positive note with the fourth. It is the ubiquitous Debt Not.

As I always say, this is good advice, whether or not it comes from a gnarly little star. And since Chinese characters are not English letters, we don't have to worry about "Debt Not" being a typographical error for something that really means "Debt Note."

That would be another meaning entirely, wouldn't it?

Other than that, keep your nose to the grindstone (section eight has mortar and pestle, if you want to check) and I'll see you back here on Monday night for a preview of Tuesday in Lunar World.
